Students urged to check MyMav e-mail accounts

Several departments said students can help speed up some registration issues by checking their MyMav e-mail accounts.

The university sends official notices concerning admission, registration, financial aid, graduation and other critical topics to student e-mail.

Alerts about policy changes, deadlines, additional documentation and other topics are routinely addressed electronically.

Ray Boldreghini, Financial Aid Office assistant director, recommends checking campus e-mail every day. He said it helps reduce time spent in lines, and missed deadlines and sometimes can save students money.

Officials say to follow policy when using campus pools

As temperatures rise, the university has public and private pools available to cool off.

Registered students, faculty and staff may use the indoor or outdoor pools at the Physical Educational Building. Operation hours are on the Campus Recreation Web site. Mav Express cards are required for admittance.

Students may bring two guests to the outdoor pool and must accompany their guests at all times. A parent must accompany children under 16. Also, children under 10 must have an adult in the water with them at all times. Spouses of faculty and staff should purchase spouse cards. No children or guests are permitted at the indoor pool.

Molly Albart, apartments and houses coordinator, urges students to follow university safety policies in the private pools. Reserved for students living in the campus community, these pools require residents to swipe their Mav Express cards for access. No pets or alcoholic beverages are allowed, and residents are limited to two guests. Swimming hours in residential pools are posted in each community.
