Door access PIN numbers to change over next few weeks
Uncooperative locked doors aren’t necessarily bad news as Key Control
Services begins updating lock PIN numbers across campus.
Focusing on removing Social Security numbers from the system and increasing
security, PIN number changes are sweeping locks, building by building.
Only secured accesses requiring both card swipes and PIN numbers are impacted.
That means some residence halls, campus classrooms, labs and offices will
be affected.
New randomly assigned PIN numbers are available for cardholders with PIN
access at http://www.uta.edu/selfservice.
Key Control Services and Mav Express management said locks will be updated
over a period of weeks, so users should continue using old PIN numbers
until they no longer works on specific doors. A failed PIN means that
particular lock has been updated. The new PIN will eventually work on
all doors for which the user has authorized access.
If neither the old nor the new numbers grant access, authorized users
should call the Mav Express Office at 817-272-2645. Calls after 5 p.m.
should be directed to campus police.
