Just So You Know…

After Scene ran the story, “The Power of Two” Tuesday, The Shorthorn found out the two students profiled became the victims of childish pranks.

Workers in the University Center basement took it upon themselves to blow up the adorable kindergarten class photo of marketing junior Brittney Joseph and architecture junior Ashley Thomas. The two Ms. UTAs found copies of the picture everywhere -— even on computer monitors and along stairwells.

While employees had no comment, saying they had no recollection of the incident, both Joseph and Thomas — who had no problems with the photo — can hold their heads high. The perpetrators will likely get their comeuppance.

On the Radar

We already told you how much we’re digging the Kelly Clarkson single, “Never Again.” If you’re curious as to what other songs will be taking over the radiowaves this summer, Split Ends provides the following list:

Rihanna featuring Jay Z, “Umbrella” — Just as the track began popping up all over the Web, the Covergirl-sponsored video premiered. Not only does the Barbados-born singer appear nude, painted in gold, she dances in both water and a rain of sparks. With HOVA on board as well, the young Rihanna appears ever closer to Beyoncé’s throne.

Lil’ Mama, “Lip Gloss” — Lil’ Mama’s video has been on the air for a while, but it’s helped the new rapper get more street cred thanks to her freestyling scene. Light, fluffy crunk-pop, just right for those summer picnics.

Maroon 5, “Makes Me Wonder” — It’s been some time since the band behind Songs About Jane had anything new, but they’re back in form with “Wonder.” It’s nice and catchy, which definitely helps as it doesn’t grab you at first listen.
