GOLF
Reeves named to All-Conference Third Team
Junior golfer Zack Reeves was named to the All-Southland Conference
Men’s Golf Third Team Thursday.
He was given the award based on a vote by the coaches and sports information
directors in the SLC.
Joining Reeves on the list was UTA freshmen Michael Van de Venter and Bobby
Massa. Both were named honorable mentions.
Lamar swept the conference honors, taking four of the five spots on the
SLC First Team. Included on that list is Dawie Van Der Walt, who was named
the outright SLC Player of the year.
Southeastern Louisiana’s Aaron O’Callaghan was the only player
not from Lamar to be named to the First Team. O’Callaghan finished
the season with a 72.4 scoring average, tying him for third in the SLC.
SLU finished second in the SLC Tournament and second in the awards, with
three players on the Second Team.
