Just So You Know...

Greek Week is currently going on around campus, and that’s awesome. We hope that many students use the time to find new friends in other fraternities and sororities that they might not have mingled with before.

But, Greeks, next time you’re going to “showcase” yourselves to the university with a bountiful buffet of food on the Central Library mall, would you mind sharing? Many of us approached after smelling succulent burgers and plump hot dogs, in hopes of being satiated. Instead, we were turned away, leaving confused, slightly annoyed and hungry at the same time.

…and A Public Service Announcement

We know you had fun on your spring break – we can tell from all your Facebook photos. But before you get back into the daily grind, think back to any grinding you took part in over the holiday. In case you weren’t exactly safe, be sure to plan a pit stop by Health Services and get tested. For whatever it may be, just so you don’t burn like Usher. And please be sure to inform your partner(s) of the results. Maybe that is why they’re hot.

Thanks for your time,
Split Ends

She’s Not Going Anywhere

After a brief bit of calamity over the weekend, it appears Harry Potter fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Several British tabloids claimed that Emma Watson, the actress who portrays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, was not going to be participating in the last two movies. Warner Bros., the studio behind the franchise, soon contacted the BBC and later Entertainment Weekly, saying that Watson would be reprising her character, and that details were just being hammered out.

PopWatch, EW’s online blog, reports that while Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, who play Potter and Ron Weasley respectively, have already signed, Watson has more issues to deal with. The 16-year-old could be entering university soon, and with the United Kingdom’s strict child labor laws, Watson would be looking at another 8-10 month long production run.
