Job Scare

What worries you most about getting a job?

“I don’t like it when there are a lot of interviewers and you are the only one in there, and they are all watching you. I get intimidated.”
Katie Goodell
Psychology Junior

“I did this job recruiting thing last semester, and I had 20 or 30 Japanese companies I interviewed for. The first time was scary, especially interviewing in English since Japanese is my first language. But after that I was OK.”
Natsuko Saegusa
Accounting Senior

“Facing the interviewer and them asking me questions that I don’t even have a clue about.”
Iryne Ngatia
Biology Freshman

“It focuses on you, and you want to make a good first impression. Everyone is so scared about making that first impression that they get nervous.”
Daniel Kay,
Print Journalism Sophomore

“I think the pressure, because they are critiquing every single move you make. There are little underlying things that they can tell about you that you don’t know. Like maybe if I looked to the left real quick, they would be like ‘Oh, she is lying about something,’ — that kind of pressure.”
Elizabeth Benson,
Psychology Freshman

“Probably not meeting their qualifications.”
Jon Jaggers,
Communication Technology Junior
