Circulation Information

CIRCULATION

Pressrun 10,000 fall/spring - 7,500 summer

• Each issue of The Shorthorn is distributed in racks at almost 70 locations on the University of Texas at Arlington campus and at 30 additional locations in Arlington.
• The Shorthorn is published Tuesday through Friday during the spring and fall semesters, Tuesday and Thursday during the summer semester.
• The Shorthorn reaches campus racks around 7 a.m. Prior days’ papers are moved to the rack’s bottom shelf at some distribution points for an extra day of availability. This vastly increases each issue’s advertising reach.
• The Shorthorn is also distributed at major Arlington events, including the Arlington Fourth of July Parade, job fairs, Arlington Chambers events, UTA sporting events, UTA graduation ceremonies and a special mailing to new students in the summer.

GENERAL RATE POLICY

• Rates and charges are listed at net amount due.
• The Shorthorn reserves the right to offer special promotions in addition to those listed in this rate card.
• Only one discount will be accepted per ad.
• Except for Classified Display, position may be requested but is neither sold nor guaranteed. Requested ad position will be granted when possible.
• Rates are subject to revision with 30 days notice.
• Remnant advertising space is published at the Advertising Manager’s discretion at a reduction of up to 50% off column inch rate.
• All rates are per column inch unless stated otherwise. To calculate the size of an ad in “column inches,” multiply the width of the ad (in columns) times the height of the ad (in inches).
Example: An ad 2 columns wide by 5 inches tall would total 10 column inches.

CONTRACT REGULATIONS

• To qualify for discounted contract rates, an advertiser must be signatory to the UTA Student Publications advertising contract and use the applicable minimum advertising space.
• Advertiser will be charged for all contracted inches and package agreements.
• Advertisers and advertising agencies forwarding insertion orders which contain incorrect rates or conditions are hereby advised that the advertising called for will be inserted and charged in accordance with the rates and terms of the contract in effect at the time of publication. Failure to make an order correspond in price or terms will be regarded as a clerical error and the advertising will be inserted without further notification.
• Only one discount may be applied per insertion, including contracted rate. Contracted rates may not be discounted further.
• Advertisers may combine total inches used in ROP, classified display, special sections and special editions, toward annual contract requirements.
• No refunds will be given. Credit will be given for use at a later date.
