Thursday’s story “Student
wakes from 7-day coma,” should have stated that Ashley
Willis was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
Thursday’s summary deck that accompanied
the story “Mavs
lose to SMU Wednesday night” should have stated that the
score of the Mavericks women’s basketball game against Southern
Methodist University was 67-58.
DECEMBER 1, 2005
Tuesday’s editorial “Too
Busy for Dead Week,” should have stated that the week
before finals is Final Review Week, as specified in the University
Undergraduate Catalog. During this week, instructors can’t
assign anything but can have assignments due and administer any
examinations as long as they don’t count as 10 percent or
more of the final grade, except makeup tests or laboratory examinations.
No instructor can give any portion of the final examination during
Final Review Week.
NOVEMBER 30, 2005
In the Nov. 18 article, “Framing
His Mind,” the story should have stated that Spanish graduate
student John Powell traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico, as part of the Study
Abroad program and engaged in his photography projects outside classes.
In Tuesday’s article, “New
proposal ails senators,” the attribution to Sawyer refers
to Student Congress President Josh Sawyer.

The information in Tuesday’s graphic titled
“Tuition Breakdown” that accompanied the story “Flat
rate proposed for tuition” was provided by the Office
of the Provost.

Wednesday’s story “Multicultural
centers move into lower level UC” should have stated that
the Center for Multicultural Cooperation will move into the Dean
of Students’ suites.
Friday’s story “Petition
created to extend safety service” should have attributed
the quote, “It has certainly given people reassurance. It
lends a sense of security,” to Lt. William Cox.

Friday’s story “Assembly
addresses concerns over proposed grading system” should
have stated that biology associate professor James Grover, also
the Graduate Assembly chair, addressed the assembly with student
concerns from the Undergraduate Assembly meeting held on Nov. 1.

with the story “VP
working to bring more performers here” should have stated
that Frank Lamas is the vice president for Student Affairs.

Wednesday’s story “KC
Hall water shut off” should have stated sensors detected
the leak around 4 p.m. Monday.

“Majority
rejects new fees” in Tuesday’s issue should have
stated that a plurality of the students at the Dean’s Forum
declined to approve the proposed fees. Of those surveyed at the
forum, 47 percent voted against the fees, and the remaining either
approved the fees or had no opinion.

In Tuesday’s story, “Science
council gives advice on class schedules,” the quote by
biology senior Andy Coffey regarding the difficulty of the university’s
Genetics and Biochemistry courses as compared to others in the nation
should have stated, “I hear that both those classes are renowned
for being ‘holy crap’ hard.” This story should
have also stated that the course Directed Study requires departmental
approval.

the Fast” should have stated that according to doctoral
student Misjudeen Raji, Muslims pray five times a day.
Friday’s story “Arlington
loses Bush library bid” should have stated that four finalists
were named in the library selection process Oct. 12, according to
an Arlington Star-Telegram article.

In Thursday’s story, “NanoFab
funding may jump,” Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison’s name
was misspelled.
Friday’s story, “Physicist
presents nano discoveries,” should have stated that the
basic research deriving the Internet was conducted by CERN, the
European Organization for Nuclear Research (also known as Conseil
Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire).

box should have stated that the congressional funds listed were
