CORRECTIONS | UPDATED JUL. 30, 02

Thursday’s story, “Girls net aid, serve up new beginnings,” should have stated that Randy Snow, a former wheelchair basketball player here, has participated in the Paralympics in tennis, basketball and track.

Jul 23

In the July 18 story, “Volunteers learn giving is better than receiving,” the student pictured was misidentified. Her correct name is Cassie Tatum Hart.

Jul 16

The caption underneath Albert Arredondo Jr.’s photo in the July 9 story, “Rape hearings begin soon,” should have stated that DNA tests confirm that Arredondo is linked to a rape here. Arredondo has not been charged for the May 13 rape here.

Jul 02

The June 18 story “Medically Movin’ on Up” should have stated that Christine Hensler is an RN and one of the intern coordinators for Medical City Cardiac Rehabilitation.

Jun 20

The June 13 Odds and Ends should have said the year Cooperstown, N.Y. was chosen as the site of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, after Abner Doubleday formulated the rules of baseball there, was 1939.

In Tuesday’s “Wicket Wars” caption, Allan Saxe Field was spelled incorrectly.

Jun 18

In the June 6 story “Number of new recruits grows,” the university’s ROTC should have been referred to as the Army ROTC.

The June 11 column, “Fragmented Colors,” should have stated that the Multicultural Services Office received all of its regular budgeted items and $30,000 of its addendum requests.

The June 11 story, “University buys units to combat space shortage” should have stated that the university is paying a lump sum up front for two temporary buildings and they’ll be leasing them month-by-month.

Jun 11

In Thursday’s story “Witt reports fee increases,” some information was incorrect.

The total increase this fall for an undergraduate Texas resident student taking 12 hours would be $168, and the increase for Spring 2003 would be $72 more than that, or $240. Overall, an undergraduate Texas resident student taking 24 hours during the academic year will pay $408 more in library and technology fees.

Also, the state comptroller’s office has recently projected state revenues that are needed to maintain current levels of services at all state agencies will be down approximately $5.8 billion during the 2004-05 fiscal biennium, which begins Sept. 1, 2003.

Jun 06

In the May 28 article “Dean search goes back to beginning,” and Tuesday’s editorial “Dubious Decisions,” both incorrectly stated the dean search committee has disbanded. Provost George Wright said that he has not made the decision to disband the committee and that the decision will be made in the fall.

Tuesday’s story, “Shot-putter throws her competition for a loop,” should have stated that Ashely Dorsey finished higher than any woman in UTA history.
