CORRECTIONS | UPDATED MAR. 28, 03

In Thursday’s story “World Wear,” Turkey should have been identified as a European country. Also, a Turkish man wanting to marry is supposed to give jewelry to his intended bride such as gold coins or bracelets.

MAR. 07, 03

In Tuesday’s story, “Students Protest War,” the nationwide protests of high school and university students should have been identified as “Books not Bombs.”

MAR. 06, 03

In Wednesday’s caption for “SC elects senator to committee,” liberal arts senator Tabitha Padilla’s name was misspelled.

MAR. 05, 03

Tuesday’s story “Witt hopes to finish career in classroom” should have said that former university President Robert Witt is 62 years old.

The pull quote in Friday’s story “Tilting roadway tests water flow” should have been attributed to Max Spindler, civil engineering associate professor.

The Web site listed in the Feb. 25 story “Committing to the craft” should have been www.naww.org.

FEB. 20, 03

Tuesday’s sports brief “Freshman pitcher to start against Bears” should have said junior Michael Garza would start as pitcher in the game against Baylor University.

FEB. 19, 03

Friday’s story “UTA bans solicitor from campus” should have stated the National Services Group was started in 1997. Although it uses the same name as a company that lost its right to do business in Texas in 1971, it is not the same company. The label “Crime” was inaccurate because no crime was committed. While the university said the company did not have permission to be on this campus, it has no evidence the representative, Andrew DeLeon, tried to defraud UTA students.

In Tuesday’s story “Dean hopefuls hold forums,” the candidates did not meet with the search committee. Also, the statement attributed to York Bradshaw should have been attributed to art professor Beth Wright.

FEB. 12, 03

Wednesday’s article “Indians seek ways to see cricket tournament” should have stated that India won the World Cup Cricket tournament in 1983.

In Tuesday’s story “Mavericks finish 8th out of 13 teams,” Northwestern University was misidentified.
