Social work toy drive ends today,
donations still taken
Social work student groups are wrapping up their toy drive today.
Students are encouraged to donate toys for underprivileged children,
said Chanelle Eastman, Social Work Constituency Council president.
She said students can drop new toys off in any of the labeled drop-boxes
around the Social Work Complex. If a box cannot be found, toys may
be taken to any office in social work and they will be given to
the appropriate people, said Eastman.
Collected toys will be sent to the Fort Worth-based Cowboy Santas
group, which distributes donated toys to children in North Texas.
Eastman said the toy drive is an extension of the help social work
students provided to hurricane evacuees.
“Basically, we were looking for something to help the community,”
she said.
