Nursing to unveil plans for simulated
ER, hospital
State officials and educators will meet on campus today to unveil
the School of Nursing’s plans for laboratories patterned after
medical workplaces.
Officials say the labs will allow students to train for medical
careers in simulated environments complete with the latest technology
and “instrumented mannequins.” The first phase is a
“smart” emergency department and the second is a smart
hospital.
The event is held by the nursing school and state Rep. Bill Zedler,
R-Arlington. The lawmaker serves in the Legislature’s Public
Health Committee.
