English Department hosts interdisciplinary symposium

Students interested in how literature and painting are related won’t have to look far.

The English Department is presenting the Rudolf Hermanns Lecture Series on Thursday on the Central Library’s sixth floor.

The interdisciplinary symposium on literature and painting in the Americas will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. with a reception thereafter.

English Department Chair Wendy Faris said the series will explore the various ways literature and painting interact.

Lois Zamora, a specialist in U.S. and Latin American literature; Emma Kafalenos, a specialist in comparative literature; and Robert Wallace, a specialist in American literature, will be the speakers for the event’s three sessions.
