English Department hosts interdisciplinary
symposium
Students interested in how literature and painting are related won’t
have to look far.
The English Department is presenting the Rudolf Hermanns Lecture
Series on Thursday on the Central Library’s sixth floor.
The interdisciplinary symposium on literature and painting in the
Americas will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 3:30 p.m. with
a reception thereafter.
English Department Chair Wendy Faris said the series will explore
the various ways literature and painting interact.
Lois Zamora, a specialist in U.S. and Latin American literature;
Emma Kafalenos, a specialist in comparative literature; and Robert
Wallace, a specialist in American literature, will be the speakers
for the event’s three sessions.

Seminar today assists in finding research material
The Central Library is hosting How to Find Articles today 11-11:30
a.m. in room 315A.
The 30-minute seminar will provide tips on developing techniques
that will construct useful strategies on choosing a database and
searching the online catalog. Students can also learn how to find
appropriate articles for assignments.
The event is free and open to all students, faculty and staff.

Project Go hosts debate conference at 7 tonight
Project Go will sponsor a presidential debate conference from 7
p.m. to 10 p.m. today in the University Center Concho Room.
The first hour will be a question-and-answer session about election
issues and will be followed by the showing of the debate from 8
p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Free food will be served.
Conference organizer Grady Hill III said the host organization was
created in late May to help undecided voters and those needing to
make more educated decisions.
