Republican Rule
Democrats should evaluate themselves
before they complain about Bush.
I was going to write an article about how
graciously the Democrats took their defeat Nov. 2, but unfortunately
I couldn’t. It appeared Ohio was in its embryonic Florida
stage late into the night. John Edwards came out demanding all votes
count and promising to drag on the process another day. Thankfully,
the Democrats conceded the next morning.
But that hint of prolonging the process is what’s really wrong
with Democrats. With their newly developed elitist mindset, it’s
an insult to be beaten by someone as “dumb” as Bush.
They just can’t believe that their ideals aren’t good
enough, and anything other than a victory must be a result of fraud
or voter intimidation.
Enough about them. They’ll be busy picking themselves up for
years to come.
A heavily controlled Republican congress has emerged. Tom Daschle,
Democratic Senate minority leader, is the first leader to be voted
out of power in 50 years. He was replaced by a Republican. John
Edwards’ Senate seat, which he gave up to run for VP, also
went to a Republican. Louisiana elected a Republican senator for
the first time in its history. The Senate is now controlled by 52
Republicans.
The Republican Party also added seats to the House of Representatives
— the first time the party has achieved 12 consecutive years
in power.
President Bush’s victory echoed Congress’ results as
well. He won the most popular votes in history. So don’t let
all those Democrats get you down by saying he barely won.
America sent a clear signal to the rest of the world. First, we
told France to stop sending presidential candidates our way. Secondly,
bin Laden lost his hopes of having a lax terrorism policy with a
new administration. His network is on the verge of collapse, and
a videotape is the only thing he could try to affect the election
with. It is no secret bin Laden wanted Kerry in office. But he should
have prayed harder.
George Bush is the most hated president in history. His policies
are ripped to shreds abroad and set on fire here at home. But still
he won. Democrats underestimated Bush and more importantly, the
American people.
We sent a message to the rest of the world that it doesn’t
matter if you aren’t with us. We’re big boys and can
take care of ourselves. Those who say we need the world community
with us are afraid and doubt America’s strength and resolve.
I am sure we will be seeing a few opinion pieces by our beaten Democratic
friends soon. But this isn’t the time to complain about President
Bush. This is a time for the Democratic Party to take a good look
at themselves and realize what went wrong, and stop blaming voter
fraud or Karl Rove.
Today, we are witnessing a fundamental change in America. We have
sealed the terrorists’ fate by re-electing President Bush.
The world’s greatest and only superpower has spoken, and it
wants victory, not defeat. Join me on the right side of history
— it’s better here.
