A campus police officer reported Friday morning that lighting around
the northwest area of Maverick Stadium needs to be improved because
more people are jogging in the dark. Reports stated students are
jogging around the outside of the stadium because the gates are
locked after dark.
A student reported to campus police Friday afternoon she was feeling
ill. Reports state the student is a diabetic and was transported
from the Geoscience Building to Arlington Memorial Hospital for
observation.
A student drove his vehicle over the curb and on the sidewalk at
the Arlington Hall parking lot early Saturday morning. A campus
police officer witnessed the act and issued a disciplinary referral.
Police advise that disciplinary referrals are handled by the dean
of students, who can recommend a period of probation and expulsion
from the university.
Campus police stopped a student carrying a laptop computer through
parking lot 45 on Sunday morning. Officers checked the computer
for UTA markings and discovered the student had checked the laptop
out from the engineering department. Police advise that anyone carrying
equipment on weekends, holidays or late at night may be stopped
